Humbleness

“The word humbleness arouses wrong ideas in many people like compromise,self-abasement,cowardice andsubmitting.

Actually its meaning is opposite them.Because it carries respect and self-respect,real knowledge and self-knowledge,self-estimation andthe realization of other people’s values.Humbleness represents the values and helps them to form.A humble person,by all means,can carry out his task independently of how much his surroundings are resistant or negative.That’s why the humbleness is the opposite of the compromise and self-abasement.”

HUMBLENESS is one of the most wonderful manifestations of love.It is a fundamental condition of existing in God and the progress towards God.Humbleness,as it is in the word,humble itself to a greater-known power of its own will by realizing its own limits and smallness,by feeling the greater power’s greatness and its own strength.

The thing that mostly prevents a person from feeling the humbleness is nothing short of EGO.Ego is not able to accept anybody above itself,always sits in the front row,always search for its own advantage and puts its own interests in the front.

People won’t be smaller with humbleness; indeed,their real greatness will gain ground by it.

How much easier and more wonderful the „yoke” ?would be if we were with real humbleness towards our Lord?! We only feel anguish on the path towards God because we think that we submit ourselves to our Lord but by cheating ourselves we don’t give our Lord enough elbow room.The word says:

“He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.”Psalm 25.9

What does this mean

If I really realize my own weakness and smallness (by accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord) by holding on to the hands of the Almighty,by listening to His voice,I won’t be lost on the path.How would I be if the Father leads me?

Of course it is not enough to listen to His word off and on.Humbleness is the tool of the higher power even when it doesn’t understand why it must do that it has to do.It doesn’t ask only does the things that have been told,it doesn’t have doubts about in whom it submitted itself. It understands that it is a noble task to have the will of the higher power’s way because it can be a part of the manifestation of the greater and wiser power.

Many times it is heard in the Old and New Testament that the people humble themselves.

“If my people,who are called by my name,will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2Chronicles7.14

In this part of the Word it shows that if a man dares to look into the mirror and recognizes his guilty nature in his reflection and turns to God,he will find grace and help in the Lord.It is not negligible “turn from their wicked ways”! It means a man must turn away from his wicked ways which he is able to do by his own strength and will.

On hearing humbleness,everybody sees a kneeling bent person.

THE TRUTH IS THAT A HUMBLE MAN IS STRAIGHETENED UP,SQUARES HIS SHOULDERS AND DARES TO SHOW HIS REAL SMALLNESS.

“Therefore,whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”Matthew 18.4

Nowadays usage and the interpretation of words distort this word’s meaning.How did a child humble himself?

When someone is opened to people,listens to them,accepts them and can accept other people’s words since he sees his surroundings greater than him there is humbleness,this is humbleness.

We can’t practise the Christian love in lack of humbleness.

How could I put anybody before me?

How could I sit in the back row?

How could I live for others?

How could I be the tool of the Lord if I am motivated by my own will?

“And being found in appearance as a man,he humbled himself and became obedient to deat?" – even death on a cross!”Philippians2.8

Who else could show what the real and God-loved humbleness is apart from Jesus Christ?

Is it humbleness with human eyes if we call someone? “brood of vipers”?Does a humble person lash people out of the church?Does a humble person confront other people?Does a humble person put others in front of the mirror?

According to human notions the answer is:no,he doesn’t.But we must view the Bible as spirits not as humans.We must view it without those thick scales on our eyes which have been grown on them by the world,by our deformed way of seeing and by our ego.He showed humbleness because He was obedient to God.He served the truth at the expense of suffering from crucifixion.

HUMBLENESS IS CORRESPONDENCE TO GOD NOT TO PEOPLE.

I won’t be humble to God if I do for people’s favour not even if I show myself small visibly.I will be humble if I can live for others and as a tool I can mediate everybody that is the best for them.Since there is little humbleness in a man,the real humble people’s judgements are the opposite of our real nature.Everybody entertains the belief that what is good for them so they are unable to realize the voice of the humble when the Creator speaks to them.

“Humble yourselves,therefore,under God’s mighty hand,that he may lift you up in due time.” 1Peter 5.6

The earthly values are the opposites of the divine values.The real reward of the humbleness doesn’t wait for people,who believe in God,on earth. A believer doesn’t search for his reward on earth.Indeed,the humbleness-to-God’s point is that a believer finds his wage in his service.He puts his yoke on with love not with force.He serves with pleasure because he feels the service is a present.

There aren’t and won’t be greater teachings than simplicity.Love,faith,humbleness,hope and I could list it forward.We can deform the Word to our way of seeing,we can explain it with lofty words,we can surround it with sciences but God’s Word will be the same.Love doesn’t change or adjust.

The most striking sign of the progress in God is the developing humbleness to God.If humbleness to God develops in me,then it must develop to the created as well (?who I am too).I serve to both:I take the “parcel” entrusted me by God to the “?addressee,to my brother.

“He has showed you,O man,what is good.And what does the LORD require of you?To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God”Micah ?6.8
